Day 58, Year 8: Working New Year’s Eve

Location: Visiting with Heather and Jed, East Falmouth, MA
The painting project here at 60 Vidal Avenue continued today and went on until five minutes before midnight. But Heather and Mark completed the painting in the dining room and the hallway. Yeah! Tomorrow they will make progress in the kitchen, but I’m not sure it will be completed by tomorrow night. The jury is still out on that one. But as we watched the countdown to the new year, it was a good feeling to know that parts of the project were completed and that life in the dining room can go back to normal tomorrow. On Wednesday afternoon, Mark and I will be going to Boston for a couple of days and we hope the total project will be completed before then. Tonight the painters did finish up just in time to join Jed, Oliver, and I for a champagne toast. I had been holding Oliver while Heather and Mark painted and even though he was fast asleep, I know he enjoyed the coming of the new year.
