Day 54, Year 8: Busy, Busy
Date: Thursday, December 27, 2012
Weather: Sunny, Temp in the 50’s
Location: Lightkeepers Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC

It was one of those days where you’re busy constantly but can’t really say
you did much. I went to the recycling center, went to the UPS store to send
a Christmas return to Amazon, packed for my trip north, defrosted the
refrigerator, and visited for a short time with Lee and Lynda and Seth and
Lisa. I then went to my sister’s for dinner. Brian and Judy Thompson came
over for dinner and we all enjoyed my sister’s lasagna. I have now printed
out my boarding pass and am ready to head out in the morning. My sister will
take me and we will stop by Windbird to pick up a few items I forgot and to
check on the temperature in the boat. I turned off all the heat this morning
and just want to see what the temp is after 24 hours. The 10-day forecast
for here is for more days like today-daytime temps in the 50’s. nighttime
temps in the 30’s. With the water temperature in the mid-50’s, no heat
should be needed on Windbird while we are gone. The only hitch in the plans
is a snowstorm that is supposed to hit in Maine tomorrow. Heather and Jed
are supposed to leave Maine in the morning and pick Mark and I up at the
airport in Boston. If they are snowed in, Mark and I might have to take the
bus down to the Cape or stay in Boston for another day. I guess we’ll just
have to wait and see what the weather really decides to do.
