Day 51, Year 8: We Wish You a Merry Christmas
Date: Monday, December 24, 2012
Weather: Mostly Cloudy and Warm
Location: Lightkeepers Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC
Since it is one minute before midnight on Christmas Eve, I think I can
safely wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas. We just got home from my
sister’s house where we enjoyed a scrumptious Christmas Eve dinner with
Patsy and Joe. Patsy and I managed to spend another day shopping for food
and last minute gifts and just enjoying being together. When we got home, we
started the preparations for dinner and for tomorrow morning’s breakfast and
early Christmas dinner. Then while Patsy and Joe went to church, Mark made
twice baked potatoes and grilled the filet mignon steaks to perfection. I
fixed fresh green beans and Caesar salad for dinner and baked a quiche and
made a fresh fruit flan for tomorrow morning’s breakfast. Before all the
cooking began, we tried a Skype video call with Heather and gang in Maine,
but the video quality was really poor. We could hardly see anyone and the
call kept dropping, so I don’t think we are going to get to see the boys in
action tomorrow morning. Hopefully Heather and Jed will take lots of photos
and some video so we can share some of the excitement. We tried to call
Justin and Jo but got no answer. So we will try them again tomorrow. When we
got ready to leave my sister’s to come back to Windbird for the night, we
took a few minutes to to enjoy looking at the Christmas tree with so many
sparking lights and gifts underneath waiting to be opened. It all looks so
beautiful and reminds us just how lucky we are to have so much. And I think
all four of us are enjoying this special time together.
