Day 39, Year 8: This and That on a Rainy Day
Date: Wednesday, December 12, 2012
Weather: Rainy, Cool, and Windy
Location: Lightkeeper’s Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC
I think the rain fogged our brains today. We just couldn’t get ourselves
into gear as usual. We just sort of drifted from one thing to another. But
still it was a good day. Mark went to the dermatologist and finally they
did a biopsy to see if they can figure out what is causing the blisters on
the bottoms of his feet. We won’t know anything until Monday, but at least
we are making progress. We ‘think’ we have decided on a way of dealing with
the rusty anchor chain but I wouldn’t make bets on it yet. Right now we are
favoring using Ospho, a product available locally at Ace Hardware that is a
rust converter, and then coat that with a Rustoleum metal paint. But we are
going to wait until Friday to start that project and we could change our
minds a few more times before then. I went with my sister to eye
appointment on the south end of Myrtle Beach this afternoon while Mark and
Joe stayed at home. Joe’s sister, another Judy, arrived this afternoon, so
Mark and Joe were there to greet her. When Patsy and I returned we visited
for a bit and then Mark and I took off to get to CVS so I could get a flu
shot. I have put it off and off and off, so the time had come. And Mark
spent a good deal of his day on the phone trying to schedule the required
‘one year after colon cancer surgery’ colonoscopy for the first week of
January when we are in Massachusetts. That has proven to be harder than we
had thought so that process will continue tomorrow. And then Mark and I
spent the evening on Windbird reading and ordering more Christmas presents
online while listening to our favorite holiday music. The day was truly
just a bit of this and that-a great way to spend a cool, rainy day.
