Day 33, Year 8: Power Squadron Christmas Party
Date: Friday, December 7, 2012
Weather: Partly Cloudy with Some Rain, Warm
Location: Lightkeeper’s Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC
It’s late so this log will be a quick one. Mark started his day by pulling out the first hundred feet of anchor chain and dipping it in a product called Rust Away to try and clean off some of the rust. It worked, but we learned that it will take gallons to do the whole 300 feet of chain. So we are thinking about using either diluted oxalic or muriatic acid to do the job. In any event, it was put on hold until tomorrow. We then went to my sister’s house to do some holiday cooking. And then tonight we went to the local Power Squadron Christmas party as guests of our friends Lynda and Lee Kaufman. It was a delightful evening and we ended it with an after-party gathering on Lee and Lynda’s boat here at Lightkeeper’s. Hopefully we will make some progress with the cleaning the anchor chain tomorrow and finish up most of our Christmas shopping. We have been chipping away at it online each morning and are almost there.
