Day 22, Year 8: Sunday in the Carolinas
Date: Sunday, November 25, 2012
Weather: Beautiful and Sunny, Still Cool
Location: Lightkeeper’s Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC
I think we spent our time today the way you are supposed to spend your time
in the Carolinas-nice and easy. We had a leisurely breakfast and then went
up to the marina complex to take showers and do a laundry. When we were
back on the boat we made Skype video calls to both of our kids and had
delightful, good video contacts with both. I was having Oma withdrawal, but
this morning’s calls fixed that. We then went to my sister Patsy’s where my
nephew Rex and his wife Diana are staying until tomorrow morning. They had
just returned from buying clams and shrimp down at the docks, so we planned
dinner around that. Mark and I, along with my sister, then took off for a
trip to Costco in Myrtle Beach. We need a second heater for the boat and
Mark researched and found that Costco had the best price on a heater that
would do the job. While we were there, we bought a few food items and went
next door to Best Buy to buy a couple of electronic items. By the time we
got back to my sister’s house, it was time to prepare dinner, but again we
did this in Carolina style, giving ourselves lots of time to visit. It was
a slow-paced day filled with great family contact
and we hope to have lots more like this.
