Day 21, Year 8: Family Visits Windbird
Date: Saturday, November 24, 2012
Weather: Beautiful and Sunny, but Windy and Cooler
Location: Lightkeeper’s Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC

This morning we said farewell to Linda, Michael, and Garrett and then
returned to Windbird to welcome family members aboard. We took the seven to
fourteen year-olds on dinghy rides in the ICW and visited with the older
ones. When Mark and I returned from the first dinghy ride, we got out the
legos for the kids to play with which gave us time to visit a bit. It was
great fun to introduce the younger set to Windbird, but the time passed all
too quickly. My nephews from Charlotte and Atlanta headed home this
afternoon and now the only one left is my nephew Rex and his wife Dianne
from West Virginia. They are not going home until Monday, so we will have
time to visit with them again tomorrow.

In the late afternoon we went to Mariner’s Point to see the boater’s
Christmas parade. I am a little shocked at how early the Christmas season
begins here, but we had a wonderful dinner at the home of friends of my
sister Patsy as we watched the boats all decorated with Christmas lights as
they paraded through the Intracoastal Waterway. ‘Tis the season.
