Day 208, Year 8: Time is like a handful of sand . . .
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2013
Weather: Gloriously Beautiful Day
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts

Henry David Thoreau once said, “Time is like a handful of sand . . . the tighter you grasp it, the faster it runs through your fingers.” And how true that seems. I start each day with so many things that I want to get done, and at the end of the day, I feel like I’ve been grasping that sand too tight. Time just slips away so quickly. But then there is always tomorrow and I’ll continue working on my list of things to do. Mark worked at West Marine from 11-7 today and before he went to work, we did finally get the Taurus inspected. Yeah! I thought that was never going to happen. I did a bit of transporting Heather to and from Woods Hole, went in for a yearly dentist check-up, bought some plants for the garden, and got started on planting. That will have to continue on Saturday. Mark works again tomorrow and I am babysitting Ollie here in Woods Hole tomorrow morning and early afternoon. Then the Goldstones are taking off for New Hampshire for the weekend. It is the 20th anniversary of Heather’s graduation from St. Paul’s School in Concord. Could that really be possible? It’s that time thing again. It just keeps slipping away.
