Day 207, Year 8: Blasting Off
Date: Wednesday, May 29, 2013
Weather: Rain
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Today was proof that you can have fun, even on a rainy Wednesday. We continued the process of getting work done on the old Ford Taurus today in order to get it inspected. We left the car at the shop and drove Heather and Jed’s van from Woods Hole back to Heather’s house. Mark did some garden fencing work and I played make-believe with Jonah. We blasted off on a trip to Saturn and when we got there, we got out of the spaceship (the house) and went for a walk in space (around the neighborhood). The mud puddles along the street become hot lava flows from volcanoes on Saturn which gave our little astronaut a great excuse for puddle jumping. Much later in the day when everyone was home, we went out to watch Sam ride his bike. Little Ollie couldn’t stand it. He wants to do everything the big boys do, so we put a helmet on him and let him blast off on Jonah’s scooter. We then had a taco dinner at the Goldstones. What a fun day—despite the rain!
