Day 150, Year 8: Turning the Corner
Date: Tuesday, April 2, 2013
Weather: Sunny and Warm Enough
Location: At Home with Patsy and Joe, Calabash, NC

I’m almost afraid to put this in writing for fear of putting a jinx on the progress, but Patsy really seems to have turned a corner today. She is generally feeling better and the fluid retention problem is greatly improved. It has been a real challenge to get physicians to get back to us with any sort of recommendations, but finally this evening Patsy’s primary care physician’s nurse did call and it was very reassuring to hear her say that we have been doing everything just right. We’ll hope for a call from the surgeon in Charleston with the results of last week’s tests tomorrow, but if we don’t hear, I guess we assume that no news is good news. Hopefully now we just need to stay the course. Another bit of good news for today was that the bluebirds seem to be interested in building nests in both of the bird houses.

Tomorrow two of my nephews with their families and friends arrive in Myrtle Beach for a few days of spring vacation. My nephew Rex, and his wife Diana, are coming from West Virginia with friends who really want to go sailing. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Thursday and Friday is for lots of rain, so we’ll just hope that the forecast for one of those days is not correct. If all else fails, we can always go for a motor up the Intracoastal to Barefoot Landing and have a great lunch.
