Day 148, Year 8: Easter Sunday
Date: Sunday, March 31, 2013
Weather: Warm, Sunny Day (69 degrees F); Thunder Storms Tonight
Location: At Home with Patsy and Joe, Calabash, NC

Things warmed up a bit today which was nice, but we spent most of the day in the house cooking Easter dinner. Patsy and Joe’s grandson, Jacob, and his friend Emily drove down from Wilmington for dinner. We had pork loin roast with a yummy gravy, scalloped potatoes, Jacob’s favorite corn casserole, asparagus, deviled eggs, and a salad. And for desert we had carrot cake. Mark was my kitchen assistant today and together we did a great job—even if I do say so myself!

After dinner we talked to Justin, Jo, Ziggy, and Coco via Skype video. Coco is really changing quickly. She focuses on the computer monitor and smiles, giggles, and claps her hands. She is a ball of energy. Ziggy was building Lego machines to take the Easter bunny flying and even made up a song about it to sing to us. Heather, Jed, and boys had a busy Easter Sunday, so we will talk to them during the week.

We had to call the doctor again today about Patsy’s fluid retention. It is worse again and the combination of the build-up of gas after eating and the extra fluid in her abdomen (and legs) makes her feel very uncomfortable. Joe called her primary care physician and they will get back to her tomorrow with their suggestions and she is supposed to hear from her surgeon in Charleston tomorrow with the results of testing done there on Thursday. We’re hoping to have some answers tomorrow, or at the very least a little more direction on what she should be doing to eliminate these problems.
