Day 130, Year 8: Farewell to Shambala
Date: Wednesday March 13, 2013
Weather: Beautiful Day; Winds NW 10-15
Location: Lightkeepers Marina in Coquina Harbor, Little River, SC
Shambala left mid-day to head south. They decided to send their malfunctioning radar to Raymarine for repairs so Mark took Geoff to FedX to send that off. It has a 7-10 turn around period, so instead of heading outside for a quick trip to Florida, they headed down the inland waterway. They will make West Palm Beach their destination and have the repaired radar sent to my sister-in-law Sue and her husband Brad’s home in Boynton Beach. Sue and Brad will deliver the unit to them once they arrive. Sounds like a plan but it did take most of the morning to get everything set. We love our cruising friends and are always sad to see them sail away, but we will meet again somewhere, sometime. Mark and I spent the afternoon and evening at Patsy and Joe’s and will head to Charleston tomorrow morning. Instead of 9 am as we thought, Patsy’s surgery will take place in the early afternoon. It will probably be evening before we know how things went, so we’re taking good books and projects with us to the hospital. I talked with Patsy tonight and she seems upbeat and ready for tomorrow. So hold hands with me across the miles and send your most positive thoughts her way.
