Day 80, Year 7: TGIF
Date: Friday, January 27, 2012
Weather: The Sky is Falling!
Location: Brewer Fiddler’s Cove Marina, N Falmouth, MA

Some weeks are better than others. This one has been a tough one, so “Thank
God It’s Friday.” The weather today didn’t help. It has been pouring rain
most of the day and at times there were torrents of water falling from the
sky. The temperature during the day was in the 50’s which is way too warm
for this time of year, but tonight it is down in the upper 30’s which is a
little more seasonal. It was a tough week mostly because of the bad news
about my sister-n-law Conda’s situation. Our thoughts are with her
constantly. And I think both Mark and I were thrown off course a bit when
we realized just how involved his next six months of chemotherapy will be.
And more than that, the check-ups every three months for the next three
years are just a little overwhelming. It is going to require a bit of
creativity on our parts to figure out a sailing plan that will accommodate
this schedule. But we have a project to occupy our minds this weekend, so
all should be fine. We will head to Heather and Jed’s in the morning to
prepare the upstairs master bedroom for a paint job. Once the painting is
done, that room will become Sam, Jonah, and unnamed one’s bedroom and their
room will become the new master bedroom. Hopefully the paint job will go
smoothly.

The highlight of today was a great telephone conversation with Justin and
Jo. Things are going great in New Mexico. The weather is warmer than when
we were there and they are not having torrents of rain. But now it’s late
and I’m tired. Hoping for sunshine tomorrow, but I think we will just get
more rain. Great for the plants, not so good for one who wishes for
sunshine.
