Day 348, Year 7: Grandparent Heaven

Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
It was a lovely day in every respect. The weather was nice and after a slow
morning get-up, we headed to Heather and Jed’s for a late morning brunch.
Sam and Jed had to duck out to a birthday party of one of Sam’s fellow
classmates, but the rest of us enjoyed a great brunch and time playing
together. Ziggy and Jonah got time together, and then later in the
afternoon when Sam returned, he played ‘big’ brother to Ziggy. Mark and I
switched off holding the wee ones. In the late afternoon all of us but
Heather went on a walk to the cranberry bogs. Ziggy desperately wanted to
find ducks to feed. We found lots of ducks, but they flew away when we got
near. We chased down the swans that are now all white like their mothers
and fathers and watched the juveniles flapping their huge wings in play. It
was a wonderful day-a grandparent’s heaven.
