Day 248, Year 7: Still Smiling
Date: Friday, July 13, 2012
Weather: Great Summer Weather, Low 70’s to Mid-80’s
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
I didn’t get gardening done today, but I’m still smiling because now all
three grandchildren are onboard Windbird for the night. Heather and Jed
took Oliver to a Friday night science lecture while Sam and Jonah stayed
with Oma and Granddad. And now everyone is spending the night. Heather,
Jed, and Oliver just got home and we are sitting in the cockpit talking. I
thought both Sam and Jonah were asleep, but Sam just popped his head up to
ask us to be a little quieter. We got quite a chuckle out of the parents
being reprimanded by the five year-old for being too loud on a Friday night!
It was really too funny. But if that is the worst thing to happen on Friday
the 13th, I guess we’re doing fine. The only bad thing about today is that
Mark is really not feeling good. But he surprised us this afternoon by
launching the kayak and going for a short paddle around the pond. He really
likes kayaking as he finds it such a peaceful activity. I have yet to go
out, but tomorrow is my ‘launch’ date. Tomorrow is also a day that we need
to start dealing with a myriad of boat projects. I think tomorrow’s
activity will be list making and then on Sunday when Mark will hopefully be
feeling better, we will start on the long list of jobs. I guess that will
be the topic of tomorrow night’s log.
