Day 320, Year 6: Finally Some Sunshine
Date: Friday, September 9, 2011
Weather: Overcast Morning, Sunny Afternoon
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Maybe the impact of off-shore Hurricane Katia and Tropical Storm Lee has ended here on Cape Cod. This afternoon the rain stopped, the clouds lifted, and we had a beautiful, sunny, warm afternoon. After so much rain, the sun was certainly a welcome sight. Mark worked at West Marine today, so after dropping him off, I went to Heather and Jed’s to do some laundry. When I returned to Woods Hole, it was time to pick up Jonah and Sam from Woods Hole Daycare and take them to Windbird for their afternoon naps. Both boys really enjoy riding in the dinghy out to Windbird on her mooring. They take turns ‘driving.’ We hit a few mooring balls, but basically both of them are learning to navigate through the water. It is fun to watch them develop boating skills. If we are here next summer, I can already see that we will want a sailing dinghy so they can become sailors instead of motor boaters.
We talked to Justin, Jo, and Ziggy tonight. We had hoped for a Skype video call, but by the time we got home from Heather and Jed’s it was 9pm, 7pm in New Mexico. Ziggy was tired and when he saw us pop up on the computer screen he protested. He had been watching a video on the computer until we called, and all of a sudden we looked very boring. So we ended up talking to Justin on the phone and will do a Skype video call earlier in Ziggy’s day later this weekend.
