Day 244, Year 6 Getting Ready for Jonah’s B-day
Date: Saturday, June 25, 2011
Weather: Cloudy Morning, Sunny Afternoon
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Mark and I drove Rex to the airport in Providence, Rhode Island this morning so he could catch his 9:20 am flight, and then we drove to our daughter’s house to check-in.. The rest of the day was all about getting ready for Jonah’s birthday tomorrow. The first order of business required going to the local farmer’s market to buy fruits and veggie’s. Heather is working very hard to make sure her family is eating only organically grown food, and grown locally when possible. The two granddads went on this trip along with me, Heather, and the two boys while Jed and his mom went to the grocery store. By the time we all got home, it was almost lunchtime, but we had a bit of time to work in the garden and play with the boys in the backyard. After lunch, Jonah and Sam took naps while Marti and I worked in the garden doing some weeding so things will look spiffy tomorrow, Mark picked up toys and other things in the backyard, and Donald mowed the grass. I also did laundry load after laundry load, mostly sheets and clothes from our passage, and Mark put together Jonah’s birthday gift-a big Radio Flyer red wagon. It proved to be a little more challenging and time consuming than expected, but it is ready and waiting for tomorrow. Heather, Jed, and boys went to a late day birthday party in the neighborhood and we had dinner with Donald and Marti. We are now back on Windbird for tonight and Rex called to let us know that he made it home just fine. We head to Heather’s for breakfast in the morning so that the grandparents can give Jonah his presents early in the day. And we are very excited that our good friends Alan and Helaine Kanegsberg from Concord, NH, will be sailing into Falmouth Harbor tomorrow afternoon and joining us for the party. Here’s to looking forward to tomorrow.
