Thanks so much to all of you that celebrated Mark’s good news with us yesterday. We really appreciated the emails. It was a wonderful reminder of just how many good friends we have. Thank you, thank you. However, after yesterday’s elation over Mark’s good news, today it was time to come back down to earth and get to work (but we are still elated). Mark and Lee finished the installation of Sea Turtle’s new inverter which now allows Lee and Lynda to plug in and use a hair dryer or phone charger or whatever electrical gadget when they are not at the dock plugged into electricity. I spent the morning cleaning and shopping and then at 1 pm Lee and Lynda came over for a working lunch. We ate and looked at charts of the Bahamas to prepare ourselves for a 2 pm meeting with cruisers who have been to the Bahamas. One of the couples has a home in the Abacos. Both Bo and Joyce of Dream Catcher (a Beneteau 49) and Magne and Wendy of Tropic Bird (a Jeanneau 52) are visiting here in Coquina Harbor. Bo and Joyce are going to spend the winter here this year, but Magne and Wendy will be headed home to the Abacos in the Bahamas once some boat repairs are completed. Joyce had an appointment and Magne was working on the boat, so we met with Bo and Wendy. Their information was invaluable and we so appreciate the time they spent with us. Then Mark and Lee were off to see the welder who is putting together a wind generator and solar panel rack for Sea Turtle. That is to be installed tomorrow and the welder needed them to bring the wind generator over for a ‘fitting’ this afternoon.

So far it had been a busy, but good day. Then we learned that my brother-in-law Joe had to be rushed to the hospital with a heart issue. He had a stent put in last March and when he first got to the Emergency Room they thought it was probably blocked. But after a catheterization, that was ruled out. The stent is fine, so no surgery is needed. The problem is that the doctors don’t know what caused the incident. Mark and I went to the hospital and after Joe was returned to his room after the catheterization, Mark and I took Patsy out to dinner. Joe was in good spirits and will probably get to come home tomorrow morning. Patsy is spending the night with him at the hospital so that she will be there in the morning when the doctors come in to talk to Joe. Hopefully we’ll know more tomorrow, but we are all just so happy that Joe is stable and feeling fine.
