Day 58, Year 10: On My Knees

I spent my Sunday on my knees praying to the clean floor gods. As a Christmas present to my sister Patsy, I cleaned the grout seams in the tile floors of her kitchen, den, and hallway. You could say one of two things here. Either I am a masochist or I love my sister very much. I choose the later, but who knows how I will feel about her by the time the job is done! I still have the front entry, laundry room, and two bathrooms to go. In order to finish this job, we are going to have to find another supplier of the Clorox gel pens I used today (about 14 of them) as we bought out the local grocery store. I’m sure Walmart will have more, but I will also look for another product that comes in a larger quantities. There’s not much gel in those little pens. What is there sure does the job, but I saw a Utube video tonight touting the merits of using Clorox Oxi Magic Spray. Looks easier than using the gel pens and the guy in the video says there is no wait time. Just spray, brush, and wipe away. I like that.
Tonight, Lee and Lynda invited us over for dinner. Linda fixed the best pork chops I have ever eaten—so tender and good. Hopefully I will learn more of her cooking tips when we travel together this winter. We spent our evening talking about the upcoming adventure. At one point Lee said that he assumed the trip this winter would be anti-climactic for us, but the trip of a lifetime for him and for Lynda. But we are just as excited about venturing around the Keys and up the west coast of Florida and then back and across to the Bahamas as we have been about any leg in our trip around world. It is a big world, but when you are sailing, you just think about one little segment at a time. Going to the Bahamas is something we have never done, so for us it is one more adventure in the Voyage of Windbird.
