Day 55, Year 10: Nights of a Thousand Candles
Date: Thursday, December 4, 2014
Weather: Overcast, High in the 60’s F
Location: R Dock, Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC

It is now WELL past mid-night and I am writing this log for the second time. Somehow I erased the first version, so this will be a greatly shortened version. We spent the late afternoon and evening with Lee and Lynda Kaufman attending the Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. They turn the sculpture garden into a fairy land of lights and provide entertainment in tents scattered about the property. When we went to this two years ago we were so enamored by the lights that we hardly noticed the entertainment, but tonight we enjoyed both to the fullest. We listened to a jazz trio, a contemporary pianist, a classical guitarist and dulcimer player, a pop choral ensemble, and a pop/rock band. Our very favorite was when the contemporary piano player joined with the pop/rock band. ‘Run, Run Rudolph’ has never been better. And then we returned to Lee and Lynda’s for a late night dinner . . . the perfect ending to a great evening.
