Day 52, Year 10: It’s December
Date: Monday, December 1, 2014
Weather: Sunny and Warm, High Near 70 degrees F
Location: R Dock, Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC

It’s December and the day was filled with post-Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas activities—cooking and shopping. Today’s cooking projects were making granola and “miracle” mineral turkey broth from the Thanksgiving turkey bones. The “miracle” mineral part of this is adding LOTS of veggies to the broth as it burbles all day long. Tomorrow I will make turkey and vegetable soup and pressure can the broth left over. The granola making was day 2 of 4 of making tons of granola for the winter. It is so much easier to make when I have access to a large oven, so I am stocking up for the next five months. I have two more days of granola making if I’m actually going to get it all done before we sail south at the end of December. We shall see if time allows. The online shopping today involved reading consumer reviews on various things we are thinking of buying for the children and grandchildren for Christmas. Hopefully by Wednesday we will be ready to order.

Tomorrow Mark has a CT scan to determine whether or not the current treatment is doing its job. We won’t find out the results until next Tuesday, so you’ll have to stay tuned to find out how Mark is doing. And before I sign off, I must say ‘Happy Anniversary’ to Patsy and Joe a day late. None of us remembered that yesterday was their 57th wedding anniversary until their grandson Jacob called late today with belated wishes. We must all be suffering from eating too much turkey!
