It was then time to do the B & B thing and get Windbird ready to welcome our friends Ed and Lynne Kirwin. Ed and Lynne arrived mid-afternoon and we have spent the remainder of the day catching up on life. They are headed to Orlando early in the morning and then on to Ft. Lauderdale to return to their boat Constance on Monday. We had a wonderful visit with Kevin and Claire and an equally wonderful visit Ed and Lynne. We just wish we had more time together. By the time we get to Ft. Lauderdale in mid-January, Ed and Lynne will have left for the Bahamas. And by the time we get to the Bahamas in late February or early March, they will be further south than we will have time to go. We met Ed and Lynne in Malaysia in November of 2009 and then sailed across the Indian Ocean together to South Africa. Since we won’t get to see them in the Bahamas, we’re hoping to encourage them to sail north next summer so we can spend more time together—maybe even sail further Downeast with them.
