Day 322, Year 10: Friday with the Goldpebbles

Today was Friday and I spent my day with the Goldpebbles. Mark drove me to Heather and Jed’s and then he returned to Windbird. I had the use of Heather and Jed’s van for today, so we were all mobile. I spent the day with the boys and Mark returned to Windbird to check out the dingy motor situation. We have been using Heather and Jed’s Mercury 4-stroke, but today Mark had time to put our old Yamaha on the dinghy to try it out and it does run. It is not perfect and it makes noises we have never heard before, but for now we will use it while we decide what new motor we want. I had a low-key day with the boys and met up with Heather, Jed, and Mark at John Stegeman’s home for a barbecue. John is the head of the lab that Jed works in at WHOI. We had a fun evening and tomorrow we will get ready for our few days of sailing with the Goldpebbles. Ollie is still on the fence as to whether he will be with us, but we are hoping we can convince him to tag along.
