Day 28, Year 10: Out and About with My Sister
Date: Friday, November 7, 2014
Weather: Sunny, but Cooling Down Again
Location: R Dock, Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC

I spent my entire day out and about with my sister. I took her to a doctor’s appointment south of Myrtle Beach and then we shopped our way home. We left at 9:30 am and didn’t return until 4:30 pm. We shopped for clothes, for food, and for lamps for the sunroom. While we were gone, Mark got the door and new hand rail in the garage painted and he and Joe did some odd jobs and went out shopping for small parts they needed. After Patsy and I got home, we got the mail and there was a package from the Goldstones. We thought it was just our mail, but there was a fantastic surprise inside. Evidently the cranberries in the bogs were harvested this week and they sent us a bag of family ‘picked’ cranberries for Thanksgiving. Mark always makes the cranberry salad for Thanksgiving Dinner and this year he’ll use these special cranberries—and we’ll all give thanks to Heather, Jed, and boys.

We struck out in the lamp shopping category today. I just cannot believe how incredibly ugly lamps can be. We did find one possibility, but we decided to think about it and look online one more time. When I got online once we returned home, I found the exact lamp we had seen in the store on Amazon and the pair of lamps was $60 cheaper. So once again, Amazon wins and Patsy and Joe will have new lamps early next week. We ended our day with dinner at Patsy and Joe’s. Joe fixed the fresh salmon Patsy bought while out shopping and it was so, so good. Thank you, Patsy and Joe.

A photo of the maple tree in Patsy and Joe’s front yard is posted here. It is the most colorful tree in the whole area.
