Day 15, Year 10: Deck Painting Day
Date: Saturday, October 25, 2014
Weather: More Sunshine and Warmth, Daytime Temps in the 70’s F
Location: R Dock, Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC

No, we didn’t paint Windbird’s teak deck today. But we did paint Patsy and Joe’s back deck. Well, at least we got a running start on that job. Patsy and I did the final prep work on the deck this morning and then Mark painted the deck floor boards. Originally we had planned to do the white railing first, but today we decided to do the deck floor first. So much for plans. I got started on painting the white deck trim, but it is a very slow process. The deck is surrounded by a wooden railing with lots of 1 x 1 uprights. I was painting the outside of the railing and only got about a fourth of it done. We’ll get back to it on Tuesday as we are taking a bit of a break to go sailing tomorrow and then on Monday we go to meet the oncologist here. In last night’s log I said I would be painting on Monday, but I forgot about the doctor appointment.

Update on Joe: Early this morning, Joe seemed worse, but by noon he seemed to rally and feel a bit better. This infection is a tough one as he has had a lot of pain and nausea. Let’s just hope that he keeps improving a bit each day.
