Another Covid day and another day of progress toward wellness. I had a telemed appointment with a young resident named Pedro this afternoon. He just got over a bout of Covid and had identical symptoms to mine. He recommended Flonase nasal spray and Claritin to dry up my sinuses. He also suggested using a neti pot, but I have never been able to make myself do that. I have a kit, so I might give it a go. And Heather brough over a ‘do it yourself’ ramen noodle soup with chicken. The chicken and veggies were in one container and the chicken broth made last night after their roasted chicken dinner was in a separate container. I have enough to make soup again tomorrow. Yay! It was delicious.
This morning Jane Woodin posted the poem copied below. It is a little depressing, but it makes you think.

Pity the nation whose people are sheep,
and whose shepherds mislead them.
Pity the nation whose leaders are liars, whose sages are silenced,
and whose bigots haunt the airwaves.
Pity the nation that raises not its voice,
except to praise conquerors and acclaim the bully as hero
and aims to rule the world with force and by torture.
Pity the nation that knows no other language but its own
and no other culture but its own.
Pity the nation whose breath is money
and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed.
Pity the nation — oh, pity the people who allow their rights to erode
and their freedoms to be washed away.
My country, tears of thee, sweet land of liberty. ~Lawrence Ferlinghetti
