2017 Life Logs, Day 33: Groundhog Day
Date: Thursday, February 2, 2017
Weather: Sunny and Colder; High Temp 39, Low 22 degrees F
Location: At Home in The Studio, Falmouth, NH

I saw this on the internet and just had to copy it here: “Happy #GroundhogDay!! Today a fat rodent with weird hair will decide our future for us. Oh, also something is happening in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.” Sorry about that. I just had to pass it on. But Punxsutawney Phil did see his shadow today which indicates we will have six more weeks of winter. Since I wouldn’t count what we have had to date as winter, then I guess six more weeks won’t be so bad.

Today I went to the gym, went to Heather and Jed’s to can chicken bone broth and to do a couple of loads of delicate laundry loads (my machine just doesn’t do ‘delicate’). Then I came home to start packing for my trip to Puerto Rico. I also made more progress in my backlog of communications and continued to deliberate over travel plan decisions. The most immediate decision is that on Monday during my 9-hour layover in Fort Lauderdale, my sister-in-law Sue and her husband Brad will pick me up at the airport and we will drive over to where Windbird will be docked to see Windbird and take Dawn out to dinner. Sam and Dawn are Windbird’s new owners. Sam will be out of town on a flying mission on Monday, but Dawn will go to dinner with us before Sue and Brad take me back to the airport to continue my flight to Puerto Rico. I also found out this evening that Justin’s umbilical hernia surgery is next Thursday, so I will be ‘on location’ in a support role for that event.

I return from Puerto Rico on Monday, February 20, and leave again on Friday, February 24. I’ll be here to help-out with child care during February vacation week and then I leave to visit with my sister who lives just outside Nashville. I’m still deciding whether I will fly or drive for that trip. And then there is one more trip in the making, but you’ll have to stand-by for details on that one. Don’t you just love suspense?!
