Day 45, Year 7: Enjoying the Day with Ziggy, Justin, and Jo
Date: Friday, December 23, 2011
Weather: Sunny with Blue Skies, High Temp in the Teens
Location: At Home with JJ&Z in Ojo Sarco, New Mexico
Some things are just more important than others, and today’s priority was spending time with Ziggy. I’ll definitely have to go back and tell the story of the third day of our bus ride, but not tonight. I’m still tired from the trip and am just going to go to bed early. Both Mark and I had such a good time today playing with Ziggy. He is one beautiful kid and has quite an outgoing personality.
Just before noon we all took a ride to the post office and we got to see more of the beauty of this area. The ground is covered with snow and with nighttime temperatures hovering around 0 degrees F and daytime temps that get no higher than 20 degrees, we certainly don’t have to worry about the snow melting. Tomorrow will be a busy Christmas eve as we still have to wrap many presents, send out our Christmas greeting to family and friends, and, of course, continue playing with Ziggy. Then we can sit back and spend a relaxing Christmas Day.
We got a photo from Heather this afternoon showing Jed, Sam, and Jonah bringing the Christmas tree in from the woods. They arrived in Maine yesterday and will spend the holiday with Jed’s family. We are certainly going to miss being with them, but we want to take advantage of this special time with the New Mexico wing of our family. Maybe next year we can find a way to get all of us together for Christmas.
