Day 302, Year 6: Back to the Work Week
Date: Monday, August 22, 2011
Weather: Most Sunny, Temps in the Upper 70’s
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
This week is off to a great start with more beautiful weather. When it is so beautiful it seems a shame that Sam and Jonah have to take naps and miss the gorgeous afternoon play time. But without a nap, neither of them would be very pleasant, so no matter how beautiful, they nap. After nap today, we had to go pick up Mark at West Marine. He got off at 4 pm instead of 6 pm today, and then we went to Woods Hole to pick up Heather. By the time we got back it was a rush to get the back yard grass cut and dinner cooked while taking care of Sam and Jonah’s needs. We divided the jobs. I did most of dinner, Mark cut the grass, and Heather took care of the boys. Jed got home just in time for a quick dinner before having to leave for a meeting, but we all enjoyed the first fried green tomatoes from the garden this summer. Since we were having the fried green tomatoes, Mark and I stayed for dinner and went for a nice walk with Heather, Sam, and Jonah. While walking, Linda Stuart called. Linda and Michael are our “crazy” friends who are preparing to bike around as much of this world as they can when they retire in three years. Their son Garrett just headed off to college in South Carolina and they are a bit nervous, just hoping that he is settling in okay. Garrett is definitely a survivor, so I know he’ll be just fine. So Linda and Michael, no worries!
