Day 289, Year 6 Get Ready for a New Look
Date: Tuesday, August 9, 2011
Weather: Mostly Sunny, Late Afternoon Clouds and Sprinkles
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
This website, Handleysail.com, is in the process of getting a new look. So don’t be surprised if in the next few days you see something different. The look will be different, but the content will be the same. Currently when you go to our website, you are taken to the homepage. From there you can click on Travel Logs and get our daily posts. From now on, the most recent daily log will be on the homepage. Our son is making the changes for us and he says the new look is easier to read and more professional looking. And for those of you who read the logs for the sailing information, we will be adding a weekly ‘article’ that can be accessed from the new homepage. So stick with us during our new construction and let us know what you think once the changes are made.
Mark worked at West Marine today and I was back to being a Granny Nanny after having the day off yesterday. Heather and Jed had invited us to have dinner with them tonight. Jed grilled wild salmon and Heather made an au gratin with a mix of potatoes and zucchini and yellow crookneck squash from the garden. Add the slices of yellow tomatoes from the garden and the result was delicious. During dinner Heather was sharing some of the stories from the public radio fund drive that has just concluded at the station where she works. Sam listened intently as she talked about reaching financial goals during a fundraiser and he finally cut in and asked, “What are goals?” We took advantage of the situation and explained that a goal could be eating all the food on your plate. And if you reach your goal, everyone cheers in celebration. It worked. He ate everything on his plate!

So glad to know that your website will still be around, even if you are done sailing around the world. I love reading about what you two are doing, whether it’s taking care of the grandkids, giving presentations about your travels, or doing laundry in buckets. Keep up the good work!
