Day 271, Year 6 Really Good News
Date: Friday, July 22, 2011
Weather: Sunny and Hot (lower 90’s)
Location: Eel Pond, Woods Hole, Massachusetts
Today’s really good news actually arrived yesterday afternoon, but in the craziness of yesterday’s day, I forgot to report it last night. So the really good news is that we got the report from the biopsy of Mark’s bladder and blood tests and everything shows that there is no cancer. So we are just dealing with a bladder that has decided not to work. That causes all sorts of inconveniences, but they are just that–inconveniences. Knowing that there is no cancer or other life threatening issues is a true relief.
Today was our day to get photos uploaded, but when Mark started the process he realized we had a problem. He started posting photos on the dates indicated, but the associated logs were not the right ones. Somewhere back in May after arriving in the Carolinas, I assigned the same day number to two successive logs, so instead of spending the morning posting photos, we spent the time trying to straighten out the problems. We are not there yet, but we are on the way. Mark works for the next two days, so it will probably be Monday or Tuesday before we get the photos posted.
Mark and I both went to pick the boys up today. When we got to Heather and Jed’s, Mark worked on getting the lawn cut while I got the boys down for their naps and did a little laundry. I’ve decided that it really is not a good idea to do my laundry by hand on the boat as that means I am dumping the laundry water straight into Eel Pond instead of into a septic system. When I do sheets, I’ll wash them at Heather’s and either hang them on the line outside there or bring them back to the boat to dry, but I’ll probably go ahead and dry other things in the dryer. It is such a waste of electricity, but hanging the clothes on Windbird’s life lines seems to be just too much of a spectacle in Eel Pond.
Mark works both days this weekend and I am going to stay on Windbird. I’ll split my time between writing and boat maintenance. We’ll have to see which one wins the majority of my time.
