2017 Life Logs, Day 106: Happy Easter with Circus Xtreme
Date: Sunday, April 16, 2017
Weather: Foggy AM, Sunny PM; 83 degrees in Worcester
Location: At Home in The Studio, Falmouth, MA

We had a fabulous spring celebration today starting with an Easter egg hunt and then traveling north to Worcester, Massachusetts, to see the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Xtreme. It takes almost two hours to get to Worcester, but it was worth it. The circus was spectacular. Our ringmaster today was a female and actually she was just hired in January as Ringling Brothers first ever female ringmaster in their 146-year history. We saw high wire acts, camels, tigers, a human shot out of a cannon, trained poodles, tons of clowns, and swirling and whirling humans on the floor and hanging from the rafters. Sam loved the dogs, Ollie loved the tigers, and Jonah loved an aerial ballet act with glow-in-the-dark costumes. There was no way to adequately capture that one in a photograph, but hopefully I got video. And then the finale was over the top with trampoline artists, break dancers, and crazy BMX bikers. But again, no photos, as the action was too fast and furious. I think we all loved the finale and it made me sad to think that at the end of May, the circus will be no more. I’m so glad we went today. I thought of Justin, Jo, Ziggy, and Coco many times during the show. I wished they could have been there as I know they would have loved it as well. And we ended the evening with dinner at a neighborhood Italian restaurant that was equally spectacular. So, it was a Happy Easter here.

Tomorrow morning Heather, Jed, and boys are off to Washington, DC, for spring break week and tomorrow afternoon I head to Boston to fly to the Bahamas. I will post a log tomorrow night, but once I am in the Bahamas, I will not be able to post logs every night. I’ll write them and then post them when we have internet. So no worries if there is no log.
