Day 231, Year 6 Newest Family Addition
Date: Sunday, June 12, 2011
Weather: Mostly Sunny Day, Upper 80’s
Location: Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, South Carolina

It was a beautiful day on the beach and the main attraction was the newest family addition, Kit. Kit is five months old and it was great fun to watch Rex as proud grandfather. All of the younger generation was on the beach today having a great time. Mark and I showed up for a morning walk, Joe came by to sit on the beach for a bit, but Patsy and Conda were absent today. Conda is still at her church convention and won’t arrive until this evening and Patsy had some things to do at home. This afternoon the group breaks up while Patsy, Joe, and their gang go to visit the friends and Conda and her crew do the same. Mark and I are fixing a taco dinner for those who are left and then tomorrow we’ll all be together for the day.

We heard from Justin and Jo today. They are at Joshua Tree in California at a music festival and they reported that yesterday Ziggy had an accident that resulted in a trip to the emergency room. He is fine, but everyone was a bit shook up. Ziggy walked up to a rusty sculpture that looked like a person and Ziggy tried to shake its hand. The sculpture wasn’t attached securely to the ground, so it fell on top of Ziggy and its upraised hand literally stabbed him in the shoulder. It was a nasty wound and needed to be stitched, but Ziggy refused to go in the ambulance. So Justin fired up the bus and took him to the hospital. All is well now, but it was Ziggy’s first big accident and it left Justin and Jo (and grandparents) just a little shaky.
