Location: In Flight from Boston to Florida

Today we begin our journey back to Windbird. She is sitting in the Bundaberg Port Marina waiting for us to return to get her ready for her third season of world cruising. We have been in the United States for four and half months visiting with our daughter Heather, her husband Jed, and our grand baby Sam. We both agree that leaving Sam at the airport today was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. We feel so blessed to have been able to spend this time with him to watch him change
from a baby to a full-fledged toddler. He is fifteen months old now and walking and running everywhere. At the end of this log are posted some of the latest photos of him. He is such a beautiful child and we are going to miss him so very much. But the time has come to continue the voyage of Windbird, so off we must go. We will just have to send our love and hugs and kisses to Sam across the miles and get those Skype video cam calls going.

I will arrive in Fort Myers, Florida, this evening, and Mark will follow tomorrow. He is making an overnight stop in Washington, DC, to attend a final meeting associated with the consulting he has been doing. While in Florida, we will stay with Mark’s sister and her husband, Mary Ellen and Lee, in Bonita Beach, and visit with Mark’s other sister Jeanie, and with his brother Steve. After a week in Florida, we fly to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where we will visit with our son Justin and his wife Jo.
They live out in the desert between Albuquerque and Santa Fe in the little town of Los Cerrillos. We will spend a week there before flying to Australia on May 1.
