2017 Life Logs, Day 228: Another Delightfully Ordinary Day
Date: Tuesday, August 16, 2017
Weather: Mostly Sunny; High 80, Low 59 degrees F
Location: At Home in The Studio, Falmouth, MA

Bike ride with Jane Woodin . . . catching up on communications . . . checking in on the Goldstone homestead . . . more food shopping . . . fixing and eating another dinner created from locally grown food. That’s about it. Nothing exciting, just delightfully ordinary and relaxed.

Dinner was planned around one large patty pan squash from Heather’s garden. I stir fried that with garlic and spinach from a local farm and parsley and basil from my deck. I bought flounder at The Clam Man and added salt, pepper, and thyme from Heather’s herb garden. Delicious. Earlier in the afternoon when I arrived at Heather’s to water the garden and bring in the mail, two of the three letters the kids were waiting on had arrived. Sam and Jonah received their teacher assignments for this school year, so I took photos and sent them in text messages to Sweden. Ollie’s assignment didn’t come today, so I’ll check again tomorrow. Even with the cloudy and rainy weather we have had, things are terribly dry at Heather’s. I did some watering today and will return tomorrow to do more. In my back and forth text messages from Heather, I found out that Day 4 in Sweden was a little better than Day 3. So, progress is being made. Heather posted some pictures of the boys playing on the rocks in the area where they are staying in Grundsund, Sweden, and it looks beautiful . And it made me a very happy Oma to see those Goldpebbles enjoying the rocky seashore. Hopefully tomorrow will be even better than today.
